About this game

The remastered version of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which was released for the PlayStation 4 in October 2015. This collection includes the first three games of the Uncharted series, all remastered with improved graphics and performance. The remaster was developed by Bluepoint Games in collaboration with Naughty Dog.

Gameplay Enhancements

The core gameplay of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune remains unchanged in the remaster, but several improvements were made to enhance the player experience:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Story

The story of the remaster remains faithful to the original. Players follow Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher, and Victor “Sully” Sullivan as they search for the fabled El Dorado. The narrative combines action, adventure, and historical mystery, drawing players into a cinematic experience that has become a hallmark of the Uncharted series.

History of the Creation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune:

Background and Concept Development

“Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 in November 2007. The story begins in the early 2000s when Naughty Dog, known for their successful “Crash Bandicoot” and “Jak and Daxter” series, started brainstorming for a new IP.

Transition to a New Franchise

After the completion of “Jak 3” and “Jak X: Combat Racing,” the team at Naughty Dog wanted to create a game that could push the limits of the new PlayStation 3 hardware. Inspired by pulp action-adventure stories, particularly those reminiscent of Indiana Jones, they decided to develop a game that blended cinematic storytelling with engaging gameplay.

Early Development and Challenges

The initial concept, codenamed “Big,” began around 2005. One of the biggest challenges was transitioning from the stylized graphics of their previous games to a more realistic and detailed visual style. This required Naughty Dog to build a new engine from the ground up, specifically designed to take advantage of the PS3’s capabilities.

Character and Story Development

The game’s protagonist, Nathan Drake, was designed to be a relatable, everyman character, rather than a superhuman hero. This decision influenced the game’s narrative and gameplay, focusing on Drake’s vulnerability and human traits. The writers, Amy Hennig and Neil Druckmann, crafted a story involving Drake’s search for the fabled El Dorado, balancing humor, romance, and adventure.

Technical Innovations

Naughty Dog made significant strides in animation and AI technology. They developed advanced motion capture techniques to create realistic character animations and interactions. This emphasis on realism extended to the game’s environments, which featured lush, detailed jungles and ancient ruins.

Release and Reception

Upon its release, “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” received widespread acclaim for its engaging story, high production values, and pioneering technical achievements. It set a new standard for action-adventure games and became the foundation for a highly successful franchise.

The game “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” has many key features that define its gameplay and mechanics:

  1. Action-Adventure Gameplay: The game combines elements of third-person shooting, platforming, and puzzle-solving.
  2. Cinematic Storytelling: A story-driven experience with a strong narrative, engaging characters, and cinematic cutscenes.
  3. Treasure Hunting: Players explore ancient ruins and exotic locations in search of hidden treasures and artifacts.
  4. Cover-Based Shooting: The combat system revolves around using cover to engage in firefights with enemies.
  5. Environmental Navigation: Players must navigate through various environments, including climbing, jumping, and swimming to progress.
  6. Dynamic Puzzles: The game features various puzzles that need to be solved to advance the story or unlock new areas.
  7. Character Development: The protagonist, Nathan Drake, is a well-developed character with a rich backstory and evolving relationships.
  8. Visuals and Graphics: High-quality graphics and detailed environments that enhance the immersive experience.
  9. Sound and Music: A compelling soundtrack and realistic sound effects that contribute to the game’s atmosphere.
  10. Multiplayer (Remaster): The remastered version for PS4 includes multiplayer features not present in the original release.

These features collectively make “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” a memorable and engaging action-adventure game.

Is there official PC support for the game?

Yes! The game runs natively on PC via GGLauncher, using an official port provided by our platform. This is not an emulator — everything is smooth and optimized for PC.

Keyboard or gamepad support?

  • Gamepad offers the most fluid experience — the game was originally designed for console controls.

  • Keyboard + mouse also works well. You may need to adjust aim sensitivity, as Sixaxis-based mechanics from PS3 were replaced for PC. It takes some getting used to.

Are there any horror elements or tough segments?

Yes — especially the bunker chapter with the descendants. This section has a darker, horror-like atmosphere. Many players consider it the scariest part of the game.
Future Uncharted games shift toward a more action-adventure tone, so this part is unique in the series.

Any bugs or jumping glitches?

Occasionally, Nate may get stuck on ledges (e.g., when trying to climb instead of drop). Try using the X button instead of O when hanging.
Some FPS dips can happen during heavy combat scenes, but the PC port is generally stable.

Does GGLauncher support achievements?

Yes.

  • Achievements unlock as you progress, including completing the game on Crushing difficulty.

  • The PC version includes all trophies from the PS4 remaster.

How long does the game take to finish?

The average playthrough is 6–10 hours.
If you’re hunting for collectibles or replaying on harder difficulties, it can take up to 20 hours. There are 22 chapters, including the iconic “Bunker” and the final showdown with Navarro.

Can I collect all treasures on my first playthrough?

There are 61 collectible treasures hidden across different chapters.
They are easy to miss, so we recommend using GGLauncher’s in-game map feature or referring to a walkthrough.

Is Photo Mode available?

The PS4 remaster included a Photo Mode, but the PC version does not officially support it.
You can always use your system’s screenshot shortcuts (e.g., Print Screen, Steam Overlay, or GeForce Experience).

What if I get stuck or encounter a bug?

  • If you can’t drop from a ledge: tap or hold the X button and slightly move the analog stick.

  • GGLauncher includes a file repair option if any data gets corrupted.

  • Our support team and community forums are also available if you need help.

What happens after I finish the game?

  • Try Crushing difficulty if you want a challenge — use shotguns, RPGs, and stay in cover!

  • After completing the story, you can replay any chapter, unlock cheats, skins, and bonus content (pause → Bonuses/Rewards).

🔧 Quick Tips:

  • Start on Easy, then work your way up to Crushing for the trophies.

  • Always collect RPGs and shotguns — they’re essential for tight combat sections.

  • If you’re stuck in a glitch or hanging animation, press X and move slightly to reset Nate’s motion.
