However, the barrier creation goes terribly wrong — it becomes much larger than intended, trapping not only the convicts but also the guards and mages who helped create it. The prisoners rebel, seizing control of the colony and forcing the king to negotiate with them. In exchange for regular ore deliveries, King Rhobar II provides them with food, weapons, and other supplies. The colony becomes an autonomous realm, ruled by the laws and hierarchies established by the convicts.
The Nameless Hero
The player takes on the role of the Nameless Hero, a convict with no known past or name, who is thrown into the penal colony. Upon entering the barrier, he must survive in a brutal world ruled by the inmates. The Nameless Hero quickly learns he must choose one of three camps to join.
